A London cab driver has revealed she had no idea that she was transporting Harry Styles across the capital due to his new look leaving him unrecognisable
Harry Styles’ new image left a London cab driver completely gobsmacked during a recent outing. The musician, 31, is arguably one of the biggest names in entertainment, having found fame as one fifth of One Direction on The X Factor.
Despite finishing in third place on the programme back in 2010, the band went on to break records across the world and almost instantly became one of the best selling groups of all time.
But it appears that Cheshire native Harry is still able to enjoy a rather low-key life. The chart-mauling star is often seen out and about running errands across London with very few people bothering him. And now, a London taxi driver has revealed she had picked him up and had no idea who he was until the end of the journey.
Despite her initial hesitations, the taxi driver explained she believed the smiley young man in the back of her cab sounded just like Harry but the appearance didn’t match what she expected. Taking to Instagram, the taxi driver shared a snap of herself and harry posing for a selfie at the end of his journey.
“Picked up this young fella on my way home tonight,” the Pink London Taxi driver said. She went on to add: “We got chatting and I said ‘You really sound like Harry Styles,’ he said ‘That’s because I am Harry Styles,'” alongside a string of laughing emojis. She ended her caption: “He was such a friendly young chap.”
In the picture, Grammy Award winning Harry, can be seen rocking a blue denim jacket, a matching cap with the brand Nokia stitched into it and a dark blue sweater. His classic Ray Ban sunglasses were seen popping out of the front pocket on his jacket as a black bag was held over his shoulder. But while Harry is known for his chiselled cheekbones and jawline, the star looked very different with a moustache and a small beard growing as he flashed a smile.

The post which has racked up over 6,000 likes was soon flooded with messages from his fans. One fan said: “He’s so funny sometimes. Also bless you for giving us a Harry pic with no sunglasses for once so we can see his pretty eyes.” A second added: “Count on Harry to go on a ride in a pink taxi and be a sweetheart. Such a cute picture! Thank you for sharing.”
“Harry Styles looks so good,” gushed another. Meanwhile a fourth fan went on to say: “This makes me wanna cry of cuteness. He is just so adorable and down to earth. Miss him so much but I’m so glad that he is enjoying his time. Thank you for sharing! Your pink taxi is so pretty.”
In recent months, Harry was rumoured to be preparing for a residency at The Sphere in Las Vegas following weeks of speculation on social media. However, it later emerged that there were never any plans for such a residency. A spokesperson for The Sphere said: “To set the record straight, there has never been plans for Harry Styles to perform at Sphere.”
The shows would have marked Harry’s return to the stage following the completion of his global tour, Love On Tour, which spanned two years before wrapping in 2023. As part of the tour, he completed several mini-residencies including 15 shows at Madison Square Garden in New York, as well as 15 shows at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California.
During the UK leg, he carried out six concerts at Wembley Stadium as well as two at Coventry Building Society Arena and two shows at Emirates Old Trafford, with Mitski supporting him ahead of his set.
