However that may all be about to change after a new cleaning method which many say is both purse-friendly and incredibly easy, recently went viral online.
But you won’t find the secret ingredient to this cleaning hack in the household cleaning aisle, that’s because the answer to your cleaning woes is using tumble dryer sheets. This cleaning trend came to light after one Reddit user shared her astonishing results from using dryer sheets to clean her glass shower panels, and commenters have been amazed at the difference.
In her post titled, “Dryer sheets are THE move!” the user shared the dramatic before-and-after transformation, leaving many convinced her new method is the best. “Filled our dinky bin cleaning all 3 sides of our shower panels!!!” she said, adding, “Night and day difference!!!” She explained: “I just drenched each dryer sheet, scrubbed (didn’t have to scrub hard AT ALL) until there was a lot of soapy buildup, on either the shower panel or the sheets themselves.
“Rinsed off with water, then repeated until there were fewer streaks every time I scrubbed. Once I was happy, I rinsed the panels off and dried them with a towel!” While she acknowledged there may still be a slight soapiness left behind from the sheets themselves, she showed off a noticeable improvement in her shower’s appearance, The Express reports.
Other methods to shift tough deposits of limescale from shower heads include using an acid to clean out the jets. Cleaning enthusiast Francesca, the founder of Thoroughly Modern Grandma, has previously recommended her fast and simple way of blitzing limescale in your shower head. “Have you ever noticed how the holes in your shower head get clogged up?” she asked. “These can easily be cleaned by soaking your shower head in a solution of hot water and citric acid. Leave for around 10 minutes and then rinse.”
