What is Black Friday?
Black Friday is a yearly sales event where participating brands slash prices across a wide range of products. The sale begins on the last Friday of November and runs until the following Monday, known as Cyber Monday. This term was coined because traditionally, physical stores would end their discounts on this day, and online retailers would take over.
These days, most Black Friday sales are conducted online, although some retailers introduce new deals to mark the end of the weekend. Originating in the US as a post-Thanksgiving tradition, Black Friday made its way to the UK in 2010 through Amazon’s first-ever Black Friday sale.
When is Black Friday 2024?
This year, Black Friday falls on Friday, November 29th, and lasts until Monday, December 2nd. However, it’s worth noting that some retailers may start offering deals earlier in the month.
So far, we’ve also spotted early sales from the likes of Shark, Antler and Oodie. Meanwhile, a wealth of beauty and fashion brands including Roman Originals, Charlotte Tilbury, Huda Beauty and Monica Vinader have also launched great deals to explore.
