Kim Kardashian, her sister Khloe, and their mother Kris Jenner, visited the Richard J. Donovan Correctional Facility in San Diego on Saturday to meet with the Menendez brothers

Kim Kardashian recently paid a visit to the Richard J. Donovan Correctional Facility, where she met with around 40 inmates, including notorious brothers Erik and Lyle Menendez.

Joining the SKIMS founder on this visit were her sister Khloe, their mum Kris Jenner, film producer Scott Budnick, and actor Cooper Koch, who portrays Erik in the Netflix series Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story. The visit was focused on criminal justice reform, an issue that Kim is deeply passionate about.

She has previously visited prisons to learn more about rehabilitation programmes and prison reform, which has been documented on her reality TV show.

A key topic of discussion during the visit was Greenspace, a project led by Lyle Menendez, which aims to improve prison yards to aid inmate rehabilitation. Erik is also involved in the project alongside his brother.

The visit, reported by TMZ, comes after Erik Menendez recently criticised Ryan Murphy and the Netflix show, according to posts on his brother Lyle’s Facebook page and his wife Tammi Menendez’s X account. He lambasted the co-creator for the “vile” and “ruinous portrayals” of him and his brother.

The Lyle and Erik Menendez story, as depicted in Monsters, has been slammed by one of the brothers for being riddled with “blatant lies” and ignoring their claims of childhood and sexual abuse. The Menendez brothers have long maintained that they were victims of physical, emotional, and sexual abuse at the hands of their parents. Erik expressed his disappointment in a statement, saying: “It is with a heavy heart that I say, I believe Ryan Murphy cannot be this naive and inaccurate about the facts of our lives so as to do this without bad intent,”.

Currently serving life sentences without parole for first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder, the Menendez brothers shot and killed their parents, Jose and Mary Louise “Kitty” Menendez, in 1989. In the limited series, Nicholas Alexander Chavez and Cooper portray Lyle and Erik, while Javier Bardem and Chloe Sevigny play their ill-fated parents. Details about the encounter remain under wraps, but it’s said to have been an intriguing one.

Kim previously collaborated with Ryan on another iteration of American Horror Story, titled American Horror Story Delicate, which aired from September 2023 to April 2024. She starred alongside Emma Roberts, playing Siobhan Corbyn, the best friend and publicist to Emma’s character, Anna Victoria Alcott. Kim is also set to appear in Ryan’s forthcoming legal drama, All’s Fair, where she will portray a divorce lawyer. The cast includes Glenn Close, Sarah Paulson, and Naomi Watts.
