Love Island star Maura Higgins shared never-seen-before pictures from her I’m A Celebrity experience as she thanked fans for their support.
Maura, who was the sixth person to be eliminated from the ITV programme, spent weeks taking part in hair-raising trials in an attempt to be crowned Queen of the Jungle. During her time on the show, fans got to see a different side of her as she opened up about her personal life and her relationships.
A week after the final, the star returned to social media to thank fans for their support and post a slew of snaps from her interviews, reunions and jungle looks. She wrote: “A is for… thank you for all the AMAZING support! Here’s all the bits you don’t get to see which make up the memories of a lifetime. I am still on an absolute highhh.
“Having read through all of your comments and posts I am so overwhelmed with gratitude (and giggles!) I love you all!” The first snap showed Maura trying on a new pair of hiking boots before entering the jungle. She also posted pictures of her sitting in front of cameras waiting to be interviewed.
The star also posted snaps from when she arrived at the jungle as well as pictures of her signing autographs. In one photo, the star rucked into a breakfast burger and hashbrowns in a hotel room while rocking her jungle outfit. The star also posed with a birthday cake decorated with fake spiders.
Maura also shared a picture of her luxury flight back to the UK as well as her reunion with pals. Her friends and fans rushed to the comment section to congratulate the star and praise her performance on the show. Her close friend Molly-Mae Hague said: “SO proud of you,” while Faye Winter added: “You’re amazing.”
“So so happy you went through with this experience darling. You’ll forever remember these moments, proud,” one friend commented and another I’m A Celeb viewer posted: “I stopped watching when you left. The real winner [heart emoji] the way you said sorry father every time.”
After leaving the show, Maura soon reunited with Pete Wicks – who she has been rumoured to be dating. During her time on I’m A Celebrity, Higgins spoke about “missing” an unnamed man she had been “seeing since July”, remarking “he’s not an a**hole”. Although she didn’t mention his name, many believe she was talking about Strictly Come Dancing star Pete.
