Molly-Mae discusses horse riding incident

Former Love Island finalist Molly-Mae Hague has revealed that she’s been left “semi-traumatised” following an injury.

The content creator, 25, shared an update on her life in her latest vlog on YouTube, which was uploaded last night. The “overdue catch-up” included Molly-Mae announcing that she’s “taking a pause” on horse riding lessons. The reality TV star has discussed her interest in equestrianism and documented lessons in previous vlogs over the years.

Providing an update on her progress, Molly-Mae shared in her new vlog that she had a “really bad fall” from a horse recently and as a result she’s taking a break from lessons. She said that the incident left her “literally black and blue”.

She said: “As for the horse riding, I actually had a really bad fall recently off a horse, which was really quite shocking because obviously like at the stage that I’m at with my riding like I’m like a beginner. And I’m really just learning. And the kind of fall that I actually had off the horse recently was like not the kind of fall that you would expect to have like at the stage of learning that I’m at.”

Molly-Mae described it as “really quite bad,” before adding: “Thank god I was wearing a body protector and I was obviously wearing a helmet, so I was okay.” She continued by sharing that the incident had even been caught on film.

She said: “We’re not really sure how I was okay because the fall was actually caught on camera and when I watch it back I’m like ‘how am I okay? Like how did I get up from that?’ I was literally black and blue. Like my bum. I cannot even.”

“I’ve never ever had bruising like that before but to walk away with just bruising. I wasn’t concussed. Like I was literally fine. I genuinely feel like it was a bit of a miracle because I really, really came hard off that horse,” she commented.

Molly-Mae went on to say in the video that she “sometimes” has “flashbacks”. She added that she hadn’t expected to experience “such a bad fall” so “early on” in her development as a horse rider. She concluded by sharing that she’s now taking a step back from it.

She said: “It really has made me question like whether horse riding is for me.” Molly-Mae described her new approach as “so crazy” given that last year she had wanted to get a horse and “really take it seriously”. She added: “But obviously, I would be absolutely lying if I sat here and said that having a really bad fall hasn’t like semi-traumatised me.”

Molly-Mae, who said that she got back on the horse after the fall, commented: “Honestly the whole thing was just absolutely bizarre. I’m taking a pause on the whole horse riding thing just for a minute whilst I kind of like process what happened, really.”
