The provider has launched a Christmas cashback sale – as it pays shoppers a huge chunk of money back when they buy these mobiles, tablets or TVs

Christmas is the time for giving and as we scour the tech deals this December, Samsung’s newest sale may convince Android shoppers to upgrade (or iOS fans to switch). Launching it’s “Go Big with Cashback this Christmas” it’s handing back money on these top devices.

If you’ve got a pesky device upgrade on your list, or shopping for a loved one who does, Samsung’s newest festive price drops can be found on new phones, tablets and TVs. A switch from its usual money-off sale (like we saw during November’s Black Friday) it’ll now give shoppers a chunk of money back after they’ve bought a device.

Mobile shoppers can get £250 back when they buy the Galaxy ZFlip6 while there’s a £200 offer up for grabs on the S24, S24+ and flagship S24 Ultra. As we explain which devices will get the discounts and the ones that won’t.

Anyone with a new mobile on the list will want to head for the Galaxy ZFlip6 for the biggest discount – after applying for cashback the price drops from £1,049 to £799 – which is a huge feat considering this moveable mobile rarely drops below £800 outside of Samsung’s hefty trade-in discounts. This time though, you don’t need to hand in an older model to get the savings.

For S range shoppers its current ‘up-to-date’ S24, S24+, S24 Ultra are all cut by £200 although our eyes were drawn to the stripped back S24 FE. This ‘budget’ version of the S range mobiles offers a high end quality device with a sacrifice on a few frills.

With scaled back features in order to justify the already cheaper price, the S24 FE is already set at a lesser £649 (opposed to S24 starting £799 rate) but the cashback drops this even further. If you don’t mind the extra admin of applying for cashback after checkout – the S24 FE can be bought for £499.

Tablet shoppers haven’t been left out of the savings either with £180 cashback available to claim back on the Galaxy S10 Ultra model – so once the cashback reaches your bank account post checkout it’ll drop the price down to £1,019. For the newest flagship tablet (and biggest size) this is still a welcomed price drop, despite it being above the grand mark.

Over in the TV department there’s up to £300 off goggleboxes…although the highest amount is reseved for those who fork out more. So if you want the multi-hundred pound discount this comes with an eye-watering cost…£34,000 to be exact. No, that’s not a typo but the price for the mega 98-inch QN990C Neo QLED 8K HDR Smart TV.

A huge downside to the TV cashback deal, in our opinion, as £300 off seems tiny considering the astonomical price it’ll set you back so it does beg the question if a few hundreds pounds off that specific device is worth the thousands? We know our answer.

Samsung’s deals come after a month of various price drops during Black Friday, where shoppers could find similar price cuts – especially if they used its trade-in perks.

Another air of caution, this time not price but timing, is on the S24 range deals. It is worth pointing out that in a few months time (early 2025) Samsung is expected to upgrade it S models so the current flagship S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra will likely be outdated – slightly – an update that comes around each calendar year.

That being said, it’s not the only retailer offering discounts this festive season. In fact, we do think Apple fans can get just as good of a deal. Currently, Amazon is offering one of the best prices on the Apple AirPod Pros2 – down from £229 to £179, that’s a £50 saving. While iPad and MacBook Air shoppers can find a deal here too.

Phone provider mobiles.co.uk are also offering free deals this month, in fact if you buy its Galaxy S24 you can get a pair of Galaxy Buds 3 for free with the iD Mobile contract. A deal which Samsung is not offering on its own site.
