As cold temperatures prevails, a homemade soup recipe could be the perfect treat – and one recipe has gone viral for its “perfect” taste and easy preparation.

With the arrival of dark, rainy evenings, it’s time to snuggle under blankets, light some scented candles, and indulge in comforting food. Homemade soup is a must-have during this season, and it certainly beats any canned versions for lunch or dinner. However, finding the right recipe can be tricky as they often involve numerous complex steps.

A “very yummy” recipe for loaded potato soup – garnished with scrumptious bacon and cheese – that everyone will love has recently taken the internet by storm. It requires just a few straightforward steps to whip up this dish that will surely impress your guests. Plus, it won’t take much of your time to prepare.

The recipe, shared by @samanthalusnek, has garnered over 350,000 views, leaving people amazed. “Loaded potatoes is one of my favourites,” one person commented. “All those toppings look perfect,” another chimed in.

“Looks so good,” a third remarked. “Looks so yum,” another user added.

Samantha Lusnek, who considers baking her “speciality”, followed a recipe from Here’s Your Bite. You’ll be able to find the full list of ingredients used on their website.

To make the soup, you need to cook bacon over medium heat until crispy in one large pot. Remove once browned and set aside. Soak up the bacon grease with a paper towel.

Next, add in your butter and onion to the pan and let simmer for about 5 minutes until the onions have soften. Throw in your garlic and cook for about 30 seconds. Add in your flour and stir for about one minute,

Now its time to whisk in your heavy cream and milk – pour in slowly while stirring. Do the same with your chicken broth. For flavour, add in your salt, pepper, chicken bouillon, and cayenne. Stir to combine.

Add in your potatoes and bring to a boil. Leave them to boil on high head for around 15 minutes until fork tender. Reduce the heat and add in your cheddar cheese and some bacon, stir until melted.

Next, mash your potatoes until desired consistency. Once ready, serve immediately and top with more cheese, sour cream, bacon, and green onions.
