Former Geordie Shore star Vicky Pattison has been open about her experience of freezing her eggs, with the support of her husband Ercan Ramadan

At 37, Vicky Pattison took the proactive step of freezing her eggs before tying the knot with her beau Ercan Ramadan last summer. The reality TV personality hasn’t shied away from discussing her journey on social platforms and even featured in the BBC documentary ‘Egg Freezing And Me’, which delves into the UK’s growing trend of fertility treatments.

Her candid nature was applauded by Jenni Falconer during Pattison’s appearance on the RunPod podcast, where Falconer recounted: “One of my friends did it, and about six months ago she finished, oh my goodness that was a gruelling year for her.”

Vicky, connecting with Falconer’s friend’s experience, expressed concern: “How is she mate? Because, obviously, we don’t want to get too much into a story that’s not ours, but it is really painful.”

She openly discussed the emotional and physical toll, reflecting on her own discomfort: “It’s emotionally difficult, and you’re all over the shop, but I found it to be quite uncomfortable and painful as well. And I don’t think enough people talk about that, because, as women, we’re meant to be so grateful that we have this opportunity, this different way to achieve motherhood, that we’re not allowed to whinge about it and say it was a bit hard, and it was a bit uncomfortable.”

Vicky raised an important point about the fertility process, acknowledging that while there’s immense gratitude for the chance at motherhood through technology, it’s also okay to admit the struggle: “But actually, you can be grateful, and you can be really excited for the end product, but you can also struggle to get there, and I found it painful”, reports Chronicle Live.

Vicky added: “Honestly Jenni, for the first time in my life I feel really liberated. I’m actually not beholden to some invisible, but very real, timeline, if that makes sense?” She expressed no regrets about her choice, believing it’s crucial for women to have options, while personally feeling very career-driven at the moment.

During a previous GMB appearance, Vicky shared her reasons for egg freezing, stating: “I will be 37 this year and the harsh reality of a woman being over 35 is that your eggs are described as geriatric, which tastes really painful coming out of mouth but it’s the medical term.”

She also discussed the dynamics with her younger partner, saying: “My partner on the other hand he’s just turned 30 and we’ve not been together that long in my opinion, our relationship is still in its infancy. And while we are still learning about each other, we’re still building this life together, the last thing I want to do is add the unnecessary pressure that bringing a family will bring.”

Currently, Vicky is channeling her energy into her career, with her latest endeavour being the Channel 4 documentary ‘Vicky Pattison: My Deepfake Sex Tape’, which is set to premiere tonight.

The programme zeroes in on the issue of deepfake pornography, typically involving the superimposition of a real person’s face onto a fabricated, sexually explicit body. Through the show, Vicky seeks to delve into the repercussions of this issue on women and girls.
