Jay Blades wife announced earlier this year that she and her TV star husband had gone their separate ways.
They tied the knot in Barbados on November 22, 2022 but are now no longer together. Jay previously appeared at Kidderminster Magistrates’ Court after being charged with engaging in controlling and coercive behaviour towards his estranged wife Lisa.
Taking to Instagram to announce the split, Lisa alleged: “I have been quiet until now, but the papers seem to be picking up this story, I want it to be clear what I put so there’s no misunderstanding … *This was the whole post on a private forum: I don’t know how to say this because it’s still really raw. My marriage has been very abusive for a long time & last weekend I finally left.”
She claimed: “The world got the best parts of my husband, & over time, I got a whole lot of everything else. No matter how bad it got I still apologised & still tried to fix it, because I loved my husband, very much.”
Lisa works as a fitness instructor and often posts workout videos for her 159,000 followers on her Instagram page. Blades and Lisa tied the knot with only 15 guests there, but he once described it as “perfect” at the time. Speaking to Hello magazine he said: “One word sums up the day: perfect. We had our closest family there, the weather held out and everything worked out so well.”
While announcing she and Jay had broken up, she shared a news article that stated Blades had been charged with controlling or coercive behaviour.
West Mercia Police said in a statement: “54-year-old Jason Blades of Wolverhampton has been charged with controlling and coercive behaviour. He appeared at Kidderminster Magistrates Court this morning (Friday 13th September) and has been bailed to appear at Worcester Crown Court on Friday 11th October.
“The charges follow the launch of an investigation after we were called to an address on 3rd May. As criminal proceedings are active, we will not be providing any further details at this time.”
