A woman has taken to social media to share her go-to hack to stop condensation from fogging up her windows in the morning – and it will cost you less than £1 to replicate

A woman has shared her quick and easy trick to stop condensation fogging up her windows every morning. Proclaiming it to be the only method you’ll need to stop condensation once and for all, she has shared her go-to hack on TikTok for her 60,000 followers to try out.

In her video, @blooms_abode says it not only prevents condensation but helps guard against mould. She wrote: “No gadgets needed. Open your curtains and blinds in the morning. Leave a pot of bicarb [baking soda] on the windowsill. Use a mould spray once every two weeks to keep at bay.” She is then seen spraying her windowsill with an anti-mould spray before wiping it clean.

Bicarb, or baking soda, works by absorbing the moisture in the air. Over time you will notice the baking soda will harden as it absorbs the moisture. When this happens, you should replace it with fresh baking soda. And what’s more – baking soda is available for less than £1 at supermarkets across the UK!

While some users thanked her for her tips, others claim there’s a much easier way still – with one user saying all you need is a dehumidifier.

One said: “Just buy a dehumidifier, pennies to run, no more condensation.” Another user added: “Buy a Meaco Dehumidifier, takes five litres of moisture out of my house every day and costs pennies to use.” A third user advised: “I was told to close all of the doors to the rooms which have condensation in them and it does help.”

In another video, the cleaning guru shared how she stops spiders invading her home. She is seen making an anti-spider mixture using 10 drops of peppermint oil per 150ml of water. She then dabs some of this solution onto a cloth and wipes down all of her window and door frames with it, deterring the critters from coming in.
