David Beckham paid tribute to his and Victoria Beckham’s ‘incredible’ 13-year-old daughter Harper Seven on social media
David Beckham praised his daughter Harper on social media on International Day of the Girl.
The 49-year-old, who is a Goodwill Ambassador for Unicef, paid tribute to the 13-year-old daughter he shares with Victoria Beckham. He posted a snap of him posing with a group of girls as they all beamed with joy. David rocked a shaved head and donned a Unicef t-shirt.
“As a proud @unicef Goodwill Ambassador and father to an incredible daughter, an issue close to my heart is for girls everywhere to have their voices heard, to learn and have the chance to fulfil their potential,” he wrote in the caption. “On this #DayoftheGirl, we encourage our world leaders to continue the fight to protect the rights of adolescent girls #GirlGoals.”
He also shared a snap with a girl holding a sign that read “Girls are capable #GirlGoals”. Another picture taken by the charity showed David and a girl laughing as they sat on a chair. Unicef took to the comment section to write: “Thank you, David, for always standing with us! Together, we’re helping girls reach their goals and create a brighter future. We’re grateful for your support!”
Earlier this year, it was said David was feeling protective over his daughter before her 13th birthday in July. The proud dad-of-four shares sons Brooklyn, Romeo, and Cruz, with wife Victoria, and has previously admitted that he’s much more protective over daughter Harper-Seven, who came into his and Victoria’s life back in 2011 – and changed their views on parenting for good.
A source had said he was feeling nostalgic and nervous over what’s to come as she entered her teenage years. “David and Harper have such a special bond. He is naturally a protective dad, so obviously, he’s nervous of anyone hurting his little girl. She’s still so young, so a lot of this is hypothetical and he knows any dating will be purely innocent. But he also knows it’s going to get harder for him the older she gets,” a source told Heat magazine.
It was said that David was feeling more sentimental than ever, especially given the fact that Harper appeared to be following in her famous mum’s footsteps thanks to her love of all things fashion and beauty related. “Over the past few months, Harper has really started changing,” the insider added.
“She’s getting dressed up a lot more, using make-up, having her hair done, going out with friends, and is always chatting about fashion and beauty with her mum. In some ways, David yearns for those days when she was still little.”
