As Katie Price revealed she’s recently undergone her sixth facelift abroad, a leading UK surgeon has expressed concern over her surgery addiction and slammed the overseas clinic for performing the procedure
Katie Price revealed she underwent her sixth facelift abroad, setting her back £10,000 – but one leading UK surgeon has a sad warning for the former glamour model.
The reality TV star, 46, updated her followers about her most recent work in Turkey on social media as she shared images of her surgery bandages. Never one to shy away from being honest about her tweakments, Katie has reportedly had 17 boob jobs and six facelifts, among various other procedures – including her newest face job in January.
However, consultant surgeon Gerard Lambe has shared what the issues of excessive surgery are doing to the mum-of-five, as well as the issues having surgery abroad can have.
“These latest images of Katie Price having had yet another cosmetic surgery procedure send out a dangerous message to vulnerable people who may think cosmetic surgery is a low-risk procedure. These latest pictures show she has undergone a further nasal procedure, on top of ‘tweaks’ to her sixth £10,000 facelift at a clinic in Turkey.
“I am gravely concerned for Katie as she is clearly showing signs of severe body dysmorphia – something any surgeon can spot quickly upon a consultation.” The expert said no surgeon should be encouraging repeated procedures and said it’s one of the “most depressing” aspects of surgery tourism.
He said “money comes first” in these overseas clincs, and often at the expense of a “patient’s mental and physical health”. Gerard continued: “There is such a thing as surgery addiction – a compulsion to seek out cosmetic and surgical procedures. It is classified as a behavioral addiction that impacts a person’s health, mental well-being, and of course, finances.
“Tragically, people with body dysmorphic disorders are more likely to become addicted to plastic surgery — but there are resources available to help anyone recover and I urge anyone, including Katie, to please seek support.”
The former model previously said she was unhappy with the way her ears looked after splashing out a reported £10k on a facelift last year. In her quest for perfection – Katie recently admitted she wants to look “like a Bratz doll” – a source told OK! she’s considering heading back under the knife for a string of surgeries including a breast reduction, rib removal, neck lift and BBL (Brazilian Butt Lift).
The source claimed: “It’s not about maintenance any more, this is about totally changing her appearance and reinventing herself again”. They added: “Katie isn’t unused to reinvention and has previously gone by the name ‘Jordan’ in her early modelling career. She changed from Katie Price to Jordan, then back to Katie, and now this is another reinvention. When she was Jordan she was one of the most famous faces in Britain, everyone knew who she was.”
