Leny Yoro arrived at Manchester United in the summer in a £52million deal from Lille and has already created a firm line between himself and club legend Cristiano Ronaldo

Leny Yoro has created a firm dividing line between himself and Cristiano Ronaldo by insisting he has no problem with the weather in Manchester.

Yoro arrived at Manchester United in a £52million move from Ligue 1 side Lille in the summer. His start to life at United was heavily disrupted by an ankle injury and he has only been fit enough to make eight appearances so far.

He has, though, featured regularly under new boss Ruben Amorim since his return to fitness. As well as adapting to life as a player at one of the Premier League’s biggest clubs, Yoro has also found himself playing in a new country.

The 18-year-old has revealed he is taking English lessons to aid himself in his new surroundings. And he has also claimed that he has no problem with the infamously miserable weather in Manchester.

“Honestly, everything is going well,” he told Telefoot. “I’ve got everything I need. The team is welcoming, and there are other young players, which helps. The weather is similar to the north of France, so that’s not much of a change.

“The language is coming along; I’m starting to get used to speaking properly. I understand now, because the hardest part is sometimes understanding what they’re saying with the accent, but it’s going well.”

Yoro’s claims mark a clear dividing line between himself and Ronaldo, who made no secret of his dislike for the British rain. Back in 2006, the Portuguese superstar admitted that the poor weather was making life difficult.

“I like to play for Manchester – better than [I like] the weather,” Ronaldo told Sky Sports News at the time. “The weather is very difficult for me because you see snow, every time, and rain.

“It’s difficult compared to Portugal, where you see sun every day, which is why it’s difficult for me. But the club is massive and I’m very happy for staying here.”

Yoro made his United debut in the defeat at title challenging Arsenal last month. Speaking ahead of that game, boss Amorim made it clear the young defender had caught his eye.

“He is a special talent, we have to be careful in the first moment. We didn’t have too many training [sessions] together. He has been training with a small group of players. He is really fast, a modern defender,” he said.

“He will be good when we want to press high and you leave a lot of strikers in this league one against one, he can manage that. He is very good with the ball so I am very excited. We have to be careful, we have to manage the load and minute in the beginning but I am really excited to see Leny Yoro playing.”
