Ham and Cheese Puff Pastry Christmas Trees

Ingredients

  • Roll of pre-made puff pastry
  • Ham, sliced
  • Cheese, sliced
  • Minced garlic, parsley and butter (optional)

Method

Lay out a piece of semi-defrosted puff pastry, before adding a layer of sliced ham.

Add a layer of sliced cheese on top of the ham. Then place another piece of puff pastry on top and push down.

Slice the pastry into eight equal strips with a pizza cutter. Fold the pastry starting at the bottom, making it thicker, and slowly fold thinner to the top to make a tree shape.

Carefully push a skewer up through the puff pastry, leaving about 1cm on the top to add the cheese star. Place on a lined baking tray and in the oven at 200℃ for 25 minutes or until golden brown.

Remove the puff pastry trees from the oven. Melt the butter in a saucepan, adding the minced garlic and parsley. Brush the butter over the puff pastry trees while still warm.

Cut out the stars from some cheese using a star cutter. Place them on the top of each of the skewers and serve.
