Former Arsenal star Nicklas Bendtner was caught up in a horrific stabbing attack last week while visiting New York with friends.

A pal of the former Denmark striker was injured with CCTV footage of the incident being leaked. A man with known mental health issues carried out the attack with his mother then reporting him to police.

Bendtner, 36, told Ekstra Bladet after being asked if it was him in the footage: “Yes, I can confirm that it is me in the video.

“Could it have been me who was attacked? I have no comment about that. But I can confirm that it’s me on the video – it’s hard to run away from.”
