The tiny home can host two people, and has been designed to look like a medieval castle with a knight statue on guard at the front door

Airbnb boasts a plethora of unique staycation spots, including a quaint home in Warwick that offers guests an authentic medieval experience.

The petite Castle Folly near Warwick can accommodate two people, making it an ideal choice for a romantic retreat with a difference. Constructed two centuries ago as a medieval-style folly, the magnificent castle dwelling was renovated with assistance from the BBC’s ‘My Unique B&B’, providing visitors with a truly distinctive experience in a stunning countryside setting.

Medieval-inspired features include panelled walls, a skylight above the bed, and a knight statue standing guard at the front door. Despite its medieval theme, the property also incorporates several contemporary amenities, such as underfloor heating and a hot tub.

The Airbnb listing for the house states: “The Folly itself is in one corner of a 200-year-old walled garden and has a great history.

“It used to be the boiler house, heating water that ran along pipes in the walls, enabling pineapples to grow against them in lean-to greenhouses. The property is on the edge of our picturesque sleepy village so any noise will be from wildlife or sheep in the field nearby.”

The property’s uniqueness has certainly resonated with guests, one said: “Is this the best Airbnb we’ve ever stayed in…? Quite probably. Everything was just perfect with Julie’s place.

“From the little touches dotted around the property to the pristine hot tub and freshly baked bread – everything was perfect! And now, we can say we stayed in a castle!”

Another guest said: “We had the best stay here. It was a special occasion for us. The location was lush, the hosts were fabulous and we will definitely be back. Thanks Julie and Toby for everything.”

A third visitor added: “Had a lovely stay at Castle Folly, it was beautiful and just like the pictures [I’d] seen. My favourite part was the hot tub when it got dark and all of the fairy lights were on. Very cosy and comfortable! Lovely hosts!”
