David Beckham sent fans into meltdown as he stripped down to tight underwear and revealed his washboard abs in a series of racy snaps on Instagram to promote a new fashion campaign

Heartthrob David Beckham has set hearts aflutter after offering a sneak peek of a daring new fashion campaign on Instagram.

The football legend, 49, stripped down to snug underwear and showcased his chiselled abs in the provocative images, as part of a fresh collaboration with fashion brand BOSS.

But what’s the secret behind the football icon’s impressively toned physique, especially considering he hung up his boots over ten years ago? One answer lies in a unique fitness strategy known as ‘fitness snacking’.

This involves Beckham incorporating short bursts of exercise into his daily routine. Activities range from cycling to work meetings, walking the family dogs, mowing the lawn, hiking or gardening. However, the Inter Miami CF owner also complements this laid-back regimen with dedicated and rigorous workout sessions.

Beckham engages in a mix of workouts throughout the week, typically alternating between high-intensity interval training (HIIT) and running, occasionally donning a weighted vest for an added challenge.

Men’s magazine AugustMan detailed his Monday workout as a brisk jog followed by several strength-building exercises. These encompass pushing a sled 250 yards, 60 push-ups, rope exercises for 90 seconds, 60 kettlebell swings, and 60 squats. Beckham then switches to cardio on Tuesdays, completing 10 sets of one-kilometre sprints. Then on Wednesday, he’s back to focusing on strength with 200 squats, 150 push ups, 100 leg raises, 25 burpees, and 50 plank to push ups.

Much like Tuesday, Thursday is all about running for the star, with 30 sets of 20-second sprints on the agenda. Friday sees a more laid-back routine, featuring a 20-to-30-minute treadmill session, sometimes complemented by yoga, rock climbing, or mixed martial arts in addition to his regular ‘fitness snacking’.

Over the weekend, he takes time to rest and recover, but still keeps up an active lifestyle with dog walking and hiking. However, exercise is just one aspect of how the superstar, now nearing his 50s, stays fit.

As reported by AugustMan, the ex-Manchester United midfielder kick-starts his day with a protein and calcium-rich cheese omelette. Lunch typically consists of lean chicken paired with leafy greens such as cauliflower, spinach and broccoli cooked in olive oil.

Dinner mirrors lunch, featuring lean proteins like poultry or fish accompanied by leafy vegetables. Healthy snacks like nuts, packed with good fats, yoghurt and herbal energy drinks are also part of his diet.

Beckham does indulge occasionally, with pancakes being his go-to cheat meal. On the whole, his diet remains incredibly healthy, steering clear of carbohydrates like white bread that lack fibre, as well as processed and junk food.
