Zara Tindall shared her favourite cold weather jackets to shop including cosy puffers and insulated waterproof coats that’ll see you through the rain, wind and snow this winter

With the winter weather still raging on, who better to take clothing advice from than Zara Tindall, who is known for spending most of her time outdoors. Whether she’s riding her horses or attending Royal functions, Zara knows all too well how important the right bit of outerwear is to keeping you warm, dry and comfortable.

That’s why her ambassadorship with Musto was such a perfect match, with the Royal praising several of the brand’s best designs as perfect for surviving the UK’s winter weather. It was even better when Zara came on board for the Musto X Fairfax & Favor collaboration, saying: “I’m really excited to be part of this new collaboration between two of my favourite brands, Musto and Fairfax and Favor. Combining Musto’s technical prowess and Fairfax and Favor’s quintessentially British style has resulted in a collection of coats I’m looking forward to wearing this winter.”

Although the collaboration has already proven incredibly popular, there are still some of Zara’s favourite styles available to shop. Whether you’re looking for a cosy puffer jacket that’ll keep you warm against the wind, or need a waterproof that keeps you dry no matter how heavy the rain, her top picks have got you covered.

There’s nothing better than a puffer coat to keep you warm when the temperatures drop, and Zara’s Musto Odyssey Darkest Spruce Pertex Primaloft Jacket, £380, is a must. Still available in sizes 8 to 18, the quilted jacket not only looks chic and cosy, but has been designed to be weather resistant, too.

It’s padded with breathable PrimaLoft Thermoplum Cross Core insulation, has a roomy hood and brushed lining in the pockets to keep your hands cosy. Zara said: “I really like the sporty feel of this jacket. Smart and stylish, with a lovely thick collar and big hood – this is going to be my go-to jacket on cold crisp days.”

Whilst this design stops at your hips, you can also get a longer midi-length version for £450 which is perfect for those extra chilly days outdoors. You can also pick up either length in both navy blue and a dark forest green.

If something waterproof is what you need, the Musto Odyssey Deep Well Waterproof Coat, £395, has a long-length design that falls to your mid-calf and is kitted out with PrimaLoft® BLACK Eco insulation and has a BR2 waterproof rating. This means it’s not only warm, but it’ll keep you protected from the rain whilst out and about.

The Musto Odyssey Deep Well Waterproof Coat has leg straps to keep it close to your body even in stormy winds, with Zara saying: “It’s great being back in a coat based on one of Musto’s historic designs. This coat is the ideal length, with handy leg straps to stop it blowing in the wind. I feel super protected from the elements and know I’ll be nice and dry come the depths of winter.”

You can also shop the coat in a shorter length, with the jacket option costing £350. Both lengths are also available in navy and dark green – the perfect countryside colours.

We’ve also been putting some cosy winter coats to the test ourselves. I recently tried out the Columbia Unisex Powderkeg II Remastered 3-In-1 Waterproof Insulated Jacket, £270, which has quickly become one of my favourite warm jackets to wear this season.

You can read more about how I found the Columbia jacket here. Alternatively, you can shop Zara Tindall’s Musto X Fairfax & Favor range.
