The Macbook Air M4 only landed in the UK earlier this month and is now almost £70 off

Apple added a new addition to its MacBook line earlier this month, and it’s already on sale. The MacBook Air M4 landed in the UK on March 12 alongside a new iPad Air and entry-level iPad, with shoppers forking out close to £1,000 for the cheapest laptop model.

As the latest Apple device, the MacBook usually comes with a £999 starting price from the likes of Apple and Amazon, but there is a way to get it much cheaper if you know where to look. Over at Laptops Direct, the same model comes in at £929.97, a saving of £69.03 compared to buying direct.

It’s available in four colours including Midnight, Silver, Starlight and the new metallic Sky Blue edition. The new model is thinner and lighter than its Pro counterpart and is powered by Apple’s M4 chip, as well as boasting an 18-hour battery life and countless Apple Intelligence features.

Tech editor Dave Snelling got his hands on the laptop before its release and said: “Having put the M4 Air through its paces, I can honestly say there’s almost nothing wrong with it, and it comes highly recommended. The upgraded M4 chip means it breezes through even the most data-hungry tasks and it will easily last a day without needing to go near a plug.”

For those who may be wary of buying from a lesser-known retailer, Laptops Direct has been awarded a 4.3-star rating on Trustpilot, with shoppers hailing its ‘fantastic service.’

One happy customer said: “Fantastic Service. Ordered a Macbook Air from Laptops Direct late in the afternoon and it arrived two days later. Fantastic service, clear communication and plenty of updates about when the order would arrive.”

Another said: “Can’t fault service and product, excellent communication and good price for laptop. Delivered the next day on time.”

Despite offering free delivery to ‘most of the UK’, some buyers may have to pay a shipping fee, as this buyer found out: “Great products, great service and a nice follow up phone call afterwards. The only thing stopping me giving five stars was the fact I had to pay extra for delivery on a £1,000 order.”

But this satisfied shopper simply said: “Super quick and better value than Apple direct.”

For shoppers who still find the Laptops Direct asking price too steep, Sky Mobile lets customers spread the cost over time with a much lower upfront cost. The MacBook Air M4 can be picked up from £22 with £2 upfront, while the larger 15” model is £26 and £12 upfront.
